Cacao Haciendas: La Danesa

Chocolate was invented by the Swiss, but if it weren’t for the sophisticated process of manipulating the cacao bean to make cacao paste—discovered millennia ago in the Ecuadorian Amazon—we’d have nothing even remotely comparable to this beloved sweet.

Located in the coastal region of Ecuador, Hacienda La Danesa models hospitality with enduring expressions of land and family that fosters and sustains the Olsen Peet family charming farmhouse.

More than warmth and welcome, Hacienda La Danesa is built upon the possibility of a meaningful exchange between the traveler and the host hoping that our super service, environmental-friendly practices and our sense of authenticity will create an unforgatable experience for every guest.
